Preview issues

Use this guide when the preview panel does not behave as expected.

Preview not updating after changes

Cause: The preview may be on a different page, or the refresh did not trigger. Fix:
  1. Ensure you have selected the correct page in the Site Explorer
  2. Click the page again to force a refresh
  3. Use the device toggle (desktop/tablet/mobile) to trigger a reload
  4. Wait a few seconds — the preview refreshes automatically after the agent finishes, but there can be a short delay
The preview shows staged changes. If you published and then made new changes, the preview should show the latest staged state. If it does not, try switching to another page and back.

Preview shows wrong page

Cause: The selected page in Site Explorer does not match the preview. Fix:
  1. Click the page you want to edit in the Site Explorer
  2. The preview URL updates to that page
  3. If the preview navigated (e.g. via a link), the Site Explorer may sync. Click the page again to confirm selection

Device toggle not working

Cause: The toggle resizes the preview viewport. It does not change the actual page. Fix:
  • Desktop — Full width
  • Tablet — 768px width
  • Mobile — 375px width
The content should reflow. If it does not, the page may have fixed widths. Ask the agent to make it responsive.

Zoom controls

Cause: Zoom magnifies the content inside the preview. It does not affect the live site. Fix:
  • Use 75%, 100%, or 125% zoom to adjust readability
  • Zoom is per-session and does not persist

Preview is blank or shows an error

Cause: The preview URL may be invalid, or the page failed to load. Fix:
  1. Check that the WordPress site is accessible in another tab
  2. Ensure the page exists and is not trashed
  3. For new pages, wait for the agent to finish creating — the preview loads when the page is ready
  4. Try the Eye icon to open the preview in a new tab (full window, with admin bar)

Preview flickers or reloads repeatedly

Cause: Rare. Can happen during rapid agent changes. Fix:
  • Wait for the agent to finish the current turn
  • If it persists, refresh the builder page
The preview uses a secure token and loads your site in an iframe. Staged changes (content, CSS, theme files) are shown when viewing a page with staged data. The live site is unchanged until you publish.
